Westfield Doncaster

The redeveloped Westfied Doncaster was officially opened on 16 October 2008.

The redevelopment received planning approval in May 2004, with work on the $600 million project commencing in January 2007.

The transformation has increased total retail space to around 120,000 m2 with approximately 420 stores. New retailers include David Jones, Big W and Target. Village Cinemas has reopened with a state-of-the-art multi-screen complex, including gold class cinemas and VMax screens.

New restaurants and a larger café court give diners over two levels sweeping views of the skyline towards the city. The revitalised Westfield Doncaster introduces a new era in retail sophistication in Australia and is the glittering centrepiece of commercial and retail activity in the heart of Doncaster Hill.

Westfield Doncaster offers a selection of leading local and international designer brands, a new David Jones, refurbished Myer, Coles and Safeway supermarkets, Target and Big W discount department stores and state-of-the-art Village Cinemas.

Car parking has increased from 3,480 spaces to 5,000 spaces.

Officially opened by Premier John Brumby on 16 October 2008, the Doncaster complex is set to become Westfield's flagship centre in Victoria, joining premium centres at Bondi Junction in Sydney, Century City in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Centre and Westfield London.
