More grant funding for the Hill

An innovative bus stop, with pedestrian and cycling path links, that also acts as a community information hub is the latest project on Doncaster Hill to receive Victorian Government funding. Located on Doncaster Road, it will provide a gateway to the Civic Precinct.

Through the Local Area Access Program (LAAP) Council will receive an initial amount of $15,000 to prepare plans for the project, which is expected to be completed in 2010.

Work set to start on pedestrian and cycling path

Work is also set to commence in the coming weeks on pedestrian and cycling shared paths between the Doncaster Hill Civic Precinct and Westfield Doncaster. Widened paths will be constructed along the east side of Council Street, from Doncaster Road to Goodson Street, and along south side of Goodson Street to Westfield.

The project, jointly funded by Council and the Victorian Government through the Local Area Access Program (LAAP), also involves the development and placement of 'wayfinding' signage at key locations and will link to the existing Doncaster Hill Boulevard and Public Art Fence, completed in 2007.
