Planning Minister praises Hill strategy at stakeholder breakfast

Minister for Planning, the Hon. Justin Madden
MLC was the special guest speaker at a Doncaster Hill information session
for key stakeholders on Thursday 29 March.
The breakfast, Doncaster Hill - Moving Forward,
was attended by around 100 people inlcuding local and major developers,
architects, consultants, real estate agents, local MPs, as well as representatives
from government departments, industry groups and local businesses, service
providers and community groups.
The Minister congratulated Manningham on its forward-thinking
approach to Doncaster Hill, saying that "we are encouraging councils
across Melbourne to get on and do the sort of work Manningham had the
foresight to start many years ago."
He also said that "Doncaster Hill is an ambitious
plan, and one that I believe will pay great dividends to the local community
and the metropolitan region."
The event was the second in a series of three sessions
to bring key stakeholders up to date on the latest activity on the Hill
and next steps forward. On 21 March Council met with ocal developers,
who provided an update on their current proposals and discussed their
concerns.
The third event will be a Community Briefing Session,
to be held at Council Offices on 18 April.
