Funding secured for Civic Precinct childcare

The State Government last week announced yet another successful grant funding application for the Doncaster Hill Civic Precinct development, with the confirmation that Manningham Council would receive $500,000 for the construction of a Children's Centre in the new community centre.

The grant was awarded as part of the State Government's Children's Capital Program 2008/09, which helps fund well progressed strategic plans for significant redevelopment of community-based childhood education and care facilities.

This announcement brings the total State and Federal Government funding for the Civic Precinct project close to $10 million, with the outcome of two further applications worth $2.25 million soon to be announced.
