VCAT approves Westfield apartment development
9 April 2010
The Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
has granted approval to Westfield's application for a permit to construct
five apartment buildings to the north-east of the Westfield Docnaster
shopping centre, at 1 Grosvenor Street.
The permit allows the construction of buildings
and works for dwellings in one ten-storey, one four-storey and three three-storey
buildings, together with associated car parking.
This large residential development will contain
185 dwellings.
The application was refused by Council in June
2009 on the basis of the height and mass of one of the buildings, parking
arrangements and the cumulative impact of new vehicle movements.
