Doncaster Hill Heritage Trail Brochure - Box Hill Institute
student designs
With support from Manningham City Council, and in consultation
with Council’s Graphic Designer, Box Hill Institute
(Centre for Creative Studies) final year Advanced Diploma
of Graphic Design students developed design options for the
Doncaster Hill Heritage Trail in early 2010.
Student involvement in the project gave them the opportunity
to be involved in a real life, funded arts project, and fostered
employability and job skills. Skill development included general
project management skills, working within a brief and set
timeframes, managing budget constraints and networking/communicating
with a range of stakeholders.
Council Officers briefed the students on the scope and background
of the project and provided necessary information, style guidance,
logos and images.
Box Hill students studying the second year of the Advanced
Diploma of Music industry - Technical Production were also
involved in the Heritage Trail project, producing the 12 audio
clips on the soundposts.
Below is a selection of the student's brochure concepts.
The quality and variety of work showcases the different ways
of viewing Doncaster Hill’s heritage.
The final Doncaster Hill Heritage Trail brochure brought
together various elements from a number of the students concepts.
